Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- 1. 2. Presentation Sheet in separate file with data of each author.
Full names and surnames, academic degree(s), identification number, institutional affiliation with their ROR link if they got it (https://ror.org/) and country, e-mail of all the authors, updated ORCID ID, CvLAC, contact number.
Each author should specify their contribution to the article according to the guidelines provided by Elsevier. You can find these guidelines at the following link: https://www.elsevier.com/authors/policies-and-guidelines/credit-author-statement

** Remember that the list of authors mentioned in this document is the final one and changes will not be accepted once the editorial review process has begun.
***For international authors it is required to fill in the INTERNATIONAL AUTHOR FORM - 4. Editable electronic format, Times New Roman, size: 12 points, double space, justified
- 5. Extension of the document according to its typology (5000 words if it is an Original Article/ 3000 words if it is a Case Report /Qualitative research 6000)

6. Structured Abstract according to the type of article: (i.e. In an Original Article, it must be: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions).
Maximum of 250 words.
Referencing is not allowed in the Abstract.
Writing in third person.
- 7. At least 8 key words in each language. For Spanish and Portuguese (DeCS) and for English (MeSH)
- 8. Clear and concise objective in both the abstract and the introduction.
- 9. Introduction: Contextualization of the central theme of the manuscript, using references that allow for argumentation.

10. Add “Key Point” information, as indicated in the Guidelines for Authors.
Information on What is known about the subject? should be written below the Introduction.
Information on What does the article contribute to the knowledge of the subject? should be written under the Results.

11. Acronyms must have their complete meaning the first time they are mentioned in the text.
* Acronyms shouldn’t be used in the abstract, just the full term description. In the proper text the full term description must be preceding the acronyms the first time they’re mentioned.

12. Decimals must be indicated with a period (.), and units in the thousands with a comma (,). (I.E. 1.75 and 5,000 people).
- 13. Drafting in third person of the entire manuscript.
- 14. Conclusions that respond to the objective set in the study.
- 15. Citations in Vancouver standards → e.j (1,2). Up to date references and in Vancouver standards (Maximum 30% references older than 5 years), including DOI. The references used in the manuscript should not include more than three (3) self-citations or recurring references to previous works by the authors or the group of authors.

16. Each table and figure in editable format should be at the end of the document, on separate pages, and after the references section. It must have its respective title, legend and source according to its own elaboration or where it was taken from. The maximum number of tables and figures is 8.

- 17. When included, photographs should be in an excellent quality. JPG format. 300 Dpi.
- 18. Declare conflict of interests and funding sources. If there were not any, it must be specifically stated in the document.
- 19. Fulfillment of the Copyright cession and guarantees
- 20. Fulfillment of the Originality statement.

22. The methodology section must include the registration number of the Ethics Committee minutes. A copy of the minutes must also be attached to the documents.

23. Copy of Informed Consent (for OA and CR)

24. Attach at least two possible peer reviewers to your manuscript in a single document. We required the following information to each reviewer:
Names, surname, field of knowledge, email, CV and/or ORCID.
Due to the requirements of some databases, we must be rigorous with the criteria demanded for our reviewers, among which stand out:
• The reviewers must have papers on this article's topic in the last three years in a WOS/SCOPUS-indexed journal.
• The reviewers must have accredited professional experience in the article's topic through a master's degree or have at least three publications related to the article's topic in Q1 or Q2 journals.
• At least 90% of the peer reviewers must not be part of the editorial or scientific committee of the journal, neither the editorial organization
• From external members, at least 40% must be international reviewers (non-Colombians) -
25. Fill out and send a checklist specific to the type of manuscript to ensure compliance with the items described.

26. Protocol registration for Scoping Review and Systematic Review:
- Scoping reviews: Protocol registered in Open Science Framework OSF https://osf.io/srx3g/overview
- Systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis: Protocol registered in PROSPERO https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/
NOTE: The number and link of the registry must be included in the article. - 3. The ORCID profile of all authors must be updated and the information visible.
